Exploring the discovery of the Nrf2 protein, and how it can support the reduction of Oxidative Stress in your cells by 40-73%
Did you know the human body was genetically designed to live an average of 126 years?
It's true. But how do we know this?
As with most anything else, all we need to do is look to nature for the answers.
In the wild, virtually every animal species has expressed a 7-fold life expectancy. That is to say, any given species will live on average 7(X) past it's peak age of maturity.
So for example, the peak maturity of a dog is at the age of approximately two years old. Multiply two times seven, you get the average life expectancy of 14.
A horse matures at the age of three. Three times seven is 21... And so on.
This works with just about every form of life on the planet. Here are just a few more examples below:
When it comes to humans, however...
This is not the case. On average, humans only live to about 80+ years. Given the fact that we typically mature around the age of 18, we should be living to approximately 126 years if we follow this formula (18 years X 7 = 126 years).
According to this theory, humans are living an average of 36.5% shorter (+/- 46 less) than we are genetically capable of living.
It's incredible to think of how much time we are leaving on the table with our current lifestyles. Imagine your mid-life crisis starting at the age of 63!
There have been (and still are) many cultures that enjoy much longer life spans than that of our western "civilized" demographic.
Some of which include some of the most centurions per capita than any other nations such as Okinawa, Japan; Hunza, Pakistan; Bama, Southern China; Georgia, Eurasia; Ikaria, Greece and certain areas of Tibet and many indigenous races throughout the world. These are also known as "Blue-Zones".
Much can be said about their diet, exposure to nature, fresh air and natural sunlight, amount of activity, rest and relative stress they experience daily. In addition they posses an overall sense of purpose within their communities (especially with the elders who play a stronger role vs. that of a lessor role in the West).
Many of these cultures rarely get sick and have extremely low rates of chronic diseases such as cancer, heart disease, diabetes etc.
When they reach advanced age, they are not crippled or incapacitated. Most of the elderly are very active and work well into their advanced years. Unlike the west where the elderly are home-bound and reliant on the care of others, or placed into nursing homes to be looked after by professional care takers for the rest of their lives.

Is it possible to "Turn back the clock" on the aging process?
We believe the answer is "yes"... And Nrf2 can play a big role in the anti-aging process.
Keep reading to learn more about our health challenges, and what you can do to 'activate' more Nrf2 in each and every cell of your body.
In Western civilizations, we have gone out of our way to 'disconnect' from mother nature and separate ourselves from any other species on the planet. We have literally placed ourselves in a gigantic plastic bubble. We rarely go outside and when we do, we cover our skin and wear rubber soles on our feet which separate us from the natural grounding energy of the earth. We process, cook, pasteurize (sterilize/kill) and add toxic chemicals to our food which our bodies cannot metabolize.
In fact, it has been said that since the industrial revolution over 100 years ago, man has introduced over 80,000 new chemicals into the environment. This is not including any of these chemicals being mixed together to create new chemicals.
As a result, our gut bacteria (which makes up 80% of our immune system) becomes compromised and we become much more susceptible to early onset diseases which are typically treated with even more toxic medications. This of course, is an over simplification of a very complex process but in short, we are not doing ourselves any favors by abusing our bodies on a daily basis over several decades. Eventually, the accumulative damage catches up with us and we age much faster than our genetic potential.
The good news is that the recent research has revealed some of the greatest human-health discoveries of our lifetime. That is, to 'flip the switch' of our genetic code back to the 'on' position to combat the natural effects of aging. When doing so, our cells are given back the ability to naturally combat the three major theories of aging which are:
1) Oxidative Stress (OS),
2) Mitochondrial Decline,
3) Sirtuin Activity Decline.
1) Oxidative Stress... What is it?
Oxidative Stress is a natural byproduct of being alive and can be found in all 37 Trillion+ cells in the human body.
Every time you breathe, eat, digest, exercise, sleep etc, your cells are converting food, oxygen, and other nutrients into energy. Each biochemical process produces free-radicals and cellular waste that must be removed and kept in check.
You can think of a car engine that takes in fuel and then converts that fuel into energy to turn your motor which rotates the wheels and propels your car forward. The combustion of the fuel also generates exhaust, which must be removed away from the engine of the car. The exhaust is the byproduct of the exchange of energy. If not removed, the car engine would not be able to perform properly.
Definition of Oxidative Stress:
"The imbalance between pro-oxidant stress (free-radicals) and Antioxidant defense, leading to molecular damage and pre-mature aging."
Similar to the car engine is the function of your cells. When we are younger, your cells are able to effectively and efficiently eliminate free radicals before they have a chance to damage the cells (as in the diagram of the apple above that has been exposed to oxygen for an extended period of time).
When we get past the age of around 20 years, however, this ability begins to become compromised and the balance of free radicals begins to tip in the favor of free radical accumulation, which in turn causes damage to our cells causing them to die off faster.
Extended exposure to free-radicals can lead to a host of other diseases. In fact, to date there have been over 250,000 studies conducted on Oxidative Stress and those studies have concluded that nearly every major disease can be directly linked to Oxidative Stress.
Dr. Joe McCord, PhD: the ‘Father of free radical biology’ Won the Elliott Cresson Medal in 1997 for discovering free radical reactions in living organisms.
Dr. McCord is a world renowned American biochemist. Winning the Elliot Cresson award placed him in the same company as Nikola Tesla, Alexander Graham Bell, Orville Wright, Henry Ford and many others.
While serving as a graduate student, he and his supervisor Irwin Fridovich were the first to describe the enzymatic activity of superoxide dismutase. Later, Dr. McCord helped to develop the all natural formula of Protandim to stimulate the Nrf2 activation pathway which also ‘up-regulates’ over 400 additional genes.
Below is a small sample of how all 400+ genes begin to work in harmony once the Nrf2 signaling pathway has been re-activated or 'tuned' back to a time where our DNA functioned at it's peak performance in youth.

After taking Protandim, scientists could no longer tell the difference between the Oxidative Stress levels of a 20 year old, from that of an 80 year old!
Reports of these incredible studies caught the attention of media outlets, including ABC Prime Time Investigative Reports (watch here):
When John Quiñones went to interview Dr. McCord on national television, he wasn't expecting to substantiate the claims that were being made about Nrf2 and Oxidative Stress.
So convinced was he, that he volunteered to have his own blood drawn and tested before taking Protandim and less than two weeks after. To his surprise, the results came back with a 45% reduction in Oxidative Stress.
After the investigative report with John Quiñones from ABC News aired several years ago, there was an explosion of other top researchers from around the world who wanted to learn more about how this amazing formula can reduce Oxidative Stress by 40% in just 30 days.
"But I'm already taking Anti-Oxidants and eat well... Why do I need Protandim Nrf2?"
Antioxidant supplements are okay, but they don't hold a candle to what your own body was designed to do since birth.
Traditional antioxidants can only neutralize one free-radical per electron. Once an Antioxidant has given up all of its electrons, it can no longer eliminate any additional free-radicals in your body. We call this "one-and-done".
Nrf2 can eliminate 1,000,000 free-radicals per second, per day, every day!
To put this in perspective, you would have to consume at least 11 lbs of blueberries, 375 oranges, 120 vitamin C tablets, or 87 glasses of red wine DAILY just to keep up with the onslaught of free-radical production in your body each day.
Essentially, Protandim Nrf2 makes taking regular antioxidants completely obsolete.
